About me

Trained at Cambridge School of Art, Foundation Course, and Middlesex Polytechnic, BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Scientific Illustration.

Since 1981 I have worked primarily as a Natural History Illustrator, for publishers including Harper Collins, New Holland, Readers Digest, Dorling Kindersley, Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press. I also worked in Australia for two years for publishers and interior designers.

Globe-makers Greaves & Thomas commissioned two facsimile globes in the 90's. The Behaim globe, a copy of the first hand-painted terrestrial globe in 1492 can be seen in the film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".

I have had two exhibitions of Bird Portraits at The Fulham Gallery, and The Sayat Nova Gallery, both in London.

Alongside my illustration work I have always enjoyed working on larger scale semi-abstract paintings, inspired by nature. I exhibited at the Wonderworks exhibition in Chagford, Devon in 2004, and in September 2005 took part in the Open Studios 9 Days of Art in Devon.

I am very happy to accept commissions of all natural history subjects.
